MembersAssistant_v.3.0 offers the busy webmaster a complete automated
way to pass-protect a directory and add subscribers to that directory. It
utilizes your Unix server's .htaccess/.htpasswd feature, creating these
necessary files to pass-protect your members' directory, thus providing you
with the most secure method to-date for controlling who accesses your
restricted directory.
We offer you 3 different options of clearing subscribers for access:
1. Automatic validation
This is the least secure method for subscriber clearance. Once the
subscriber submits their application, they are given immediate access
through a link provided on their success page. Although our program
checks their application for a valid email address, as you know, most
have figured a way to beat the system. So, in reality, you could have
a Mr. Nobody from Nobody, Nowhere, USA with an email address just as
bogus. If your pages aren't that sensitive and this really doesn't pose
a problem, then today's web users certainly like immediate interactivity
rather than continuing with additional processes.
2. Email validation
Next in greater subscriber screening is this method that does not give
the applicant immediate access. A valid email address is required to
receive an automated response that will contain a link for them to
complete the registration process. Only after they access that link in
their email will they be given access to your members' area. So, now
at least you have a valid email address even though they may submit phony
userdata.
3. Admin validation
And finally, the most secure screening of all, your personal administrative
approval. The subscriber will receive an email telling them of this method
and the typical time for their review (you set the time in your variables).
You will receive email notification of their application and only after
you manually review and approve it will they be granted access. Of course,
with this method, if you are not satisfied with the application, you may
immediately decline it or email them for further clarification or additional
information. Or, you may even ban them from any future application.
You are in complete control of the process all the way.
In addition to an extensive subscription system, we also provide a complete
auto-ticket support program for your members. Through the link you provide in
your members' area, members may access your support contact form that will
produce an automated ticketed process, enabling you to reply to their contact,
giving the member the opportunity to cancel their inquiry at any time or check
the status of their active inquiry.
